Description
1949-D WRPM-011 is a repunched mint mark on the 1949-D Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. The secondary D is tilted (rotated) relative to the primary (D/D Tilted (Rotated)). On the obverse, by the rim, over the BE in LIBERTY, is an east-west die scratch; east-west scratches sit between the date and the queue, while a few small gouges lie on the lower queue. On the reverse, by the rim, over the BUS in PLURIBUS, is an east-west scratch; below the second S in STATES, a strong scratch leaves the rim heading NW; and a gouge sits above the right side of Monticello. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
