Description
1949-D WRPM-009 is a repunched mint mark on the 1949-D Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. The secondary D is tilted (rotated) relative to the primary (D/D Tilted (Rotated)). On the obverse, a weak NW/SE die scratch links the N in IN with the G in GOD; by the rim, over the S in TRUST, is an east-west scratch; and a few weak east-west scratches cross the tops of the TY in LIBERTY. On the reverse, weak east-west scratches cross RIBUS UNUM; a long scratch heads NE off the E in FIVE; a gouge sits inside the V in FIVE; and another gouge lies above the I in UNITED. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
