Description
1948-S WRPM-003 is a repunched mint mark on the 1948-S Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. A secondary S lies south of the primary S (S/S South). On the obverse, a die gouge sits inside the lower O in GOD, while a short gouge crosses the R in LIBERTY at its top left. On the reverse, scratches leave Monticello's bottom right heading SSE and cross the second A in AMERICA, and other scratches head NW off the top of the V in FIVE. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
