Description
The 1947 (S) Roosevelt Dime was struck at the San Francisco Mint as a dime in the Roosevelt Silver Dimes 1946-1964 series. With a mintage of 34.8 million, this is a less common issue — the lowest mintage among 3 mint variants, representing only 17% of total production. The obverse features Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left, honoring the president who championed the March of Dimes and the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength.
