Description
1946-S WDDO-013 is a doubled die obverse on the 1946-S Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Pivoting at 12:00, a counterclockwise (CCW) spread appears on the designer's initials, with weaker doubling on the date and IN GOD WE TRUST. Obverse Stage A is Type I. NE/SW scratches cross LIBERTY's Y and lie in front of the hair. A strong NNW scratch starts at the W's upper center in WE and passes between IN and GOD, between the I and the G. On Obverse Stage B the scratches through the Y are gone, the one in front of the hair remains, and the scratch at the W is weaker. Reverse Stage A has a Trumpet Tail mint mark and the doubling of WWHR-001, with a die clash mark under the lower olive. Reverse Stage B adds a gouge (dot) inside the O in OF, nearer the top. Joe Feld submitted Stage A and John A. Wexler Stage B. Wexler lists no cross-references.
