Description

1946-S WDDO-012 is a doubled die obverse on the 1946-S Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. The date and the designer's initials have a very close spread toward the center. The obverse is Type I. Under the ear's right side is a NNE/SSW scratch, a series of NE/SW scratches lies between the forehead and LIBERTY's Y, and two N/S scratches sit between the date's 4 and 6. The reverse has a Trumpet Tail mint mark. A very weak, abraded NW/SE scratch joins the upper right oak leaf with the top leaves. Whaden Curtis submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Its comments say it was formerly WDDO-015 and was renumbered when the doubled obverse working hub, WWHO-001, was found and left large gaps in the listings.
