Error
Description
A spread toward the center shows on the date, the designer's initials and some of the letters of TRUST. Doubling also shows from a pivot at about 2:00 on IGWT, LIBERTY, the nostrils and the eyelid. Tripling shows on the last T of TRUST. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Type I. Curly V-shape die scratch in the area between the nose and eye. Heavy abrasion on the nose. Criss-crossing die scratches above the nose. Fan-shaped die scratches in front of the lips. Obverse Stage B: V-shaped die scratch still present but weaker. Much of the doubling is weaker from die polishing. Reverse Stage A: Ball serif mintmark. Heavy die scratches on the left upper olive leaf. Die gouge between the upper area of the first A and M of AMERICA, closer to the A. Reverse Stage B: Scratches on olive leaf still present but weaker.
