Description

A CCW spread from a pivot at about 9:00 shows on IGWT, the ERTY of LIBERTY, the bottom of the ribbon, the designer’s initials, and the 44 in the date. Master die doubling shows on the underside of the nose and on Washington’s lower ear.Die Markers: Obverse: A die crack runs east through the upper forehead and into the hair extending to the Y in LIBERTY. A die crack runs across the base of the bust. Reverse: None significant.Submitted By: John A. WexlerCross References: None known Obverse: A die scratch parallel to the rim runs through the lower part of all four digits in the date. A die scratch runs east from the upper B in LIBERTY. Reverse: A die scratch runs SSW at the joint of the eagle’s inner and outer wing feathers.
