1943 (S) Washington Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-007

Description

1943-S WDDO-007 is a doubled die obverse on the 1943-S Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A counterclockwise (CCW) spread appears on LIBERTY, the date, the designer's initials and the lower ribbon, and slightly on IN GOD WE TRUST. On the obverse, a crack crosses the bust's base and the lower queue and extends WNW into the field, and another crosses the upper forehead heading east and enters the hair. On the reverse, a heavy crack passes through the upper RIC of AMERICA. Kevin Flynn submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
