Description
1940-D WDDO-008 is a doubled die obverse on the 1940-D Mercury dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling, a Class II spread toward the center, is on the date and the designer's initials, with slight doubling on IN GOD WE TRUST. On the obverse, a light die scratch heads NNE off the 4 in the date, from the right side of its crossbar. Wexler notes no reverse markers. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
