Description
1940-D WDDO-005 is a doubled die obverse on the 1940-D Mercury dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling, a Class II spread toward the center, is on the date. Wexler notes no significant obverse markers. On the reverse, a strong die gouge cuts through the upper NITE of UNITED. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
