Description
1940-D WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 1940-D Mercury dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling, a Class II spread toward the center, is on the date, with slight doubling on IN GOD WE TRUST. Wexler notes no significant obverse markers. On the reverse, left of the first T in STATES, near its top, is a small die gouge. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
