Description

This 1939 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent repunched mint mark, WRPM-006, is cataloged by Wexler (doubleddie.com) as 1939-S 1¢ WRPM-006. The mint mark is S/S tilted (rotated). Obverse: numerous mostly north-south die scratches across the fields, heavy NNW-SSE scratches left of and through the date toward Lincoln's chin, and a small die gouge (dot) above the 3. Reverse: die cracks from below the O of ONE up into the first U of PLURIBUS, from the E of ONE northwest into the second U of PLURIBUS, and through the lower NUM of UNUM; a crack north from the rim at 4:30 along the right wheat grains, with chips; and cracks through the left wheat grains.
