1939 Washington Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-007

Description

1939 WDDO-007 is a doubled die obverse on the 1939 Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A clockwise (CW) spread from a pivot near 12:00 shows on the date. On the obverse, right of the lower part of the 3 there is a short gouge, and another short gouge heads west from the upper part of the second 9. A scratch runs ESE off the R in LIBERTY, from its right side, and a crack heads SSE out of the middle of the R in TRUST. Wexler notes no reverse markers. Joe Feld submitted the variety.
