Description

Obverse Stage A: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Light E/W die scratches throughout the entire vest. SW die scratch from the G of GOD slightly below left center. NE/SW die scratch inside the lower area of the O of GOD. Light N/S die scratches through the letters of LIBERTY with the heaviest scratch south from the left lower side of the B. Die scratch north from the lower tip of the 9 in the date. Obverse Stage B: Stage A markers still present. Slightly weaker secondary mint mark. Obverse Stage C: Weaker secondary mint mark at the left upper curve. Stage A markers abraded away except for the scratch from the B in LIBERTY. Reverse Stage A: Very light N/S die crack left of the upper area of the left wheat grains. Reverse Stage B: N/S die gouge west and a N/S die gouge NW of the left upper side of the T in CENT. Reverse Stage C: Remnants of the stage B gouges remain and can only be seen on a hard tilt under magnification. Light die chips on the crack at the left wheat ear.
