Description

As the primary RPM for the 1919-D Lincoln Wheat Cent, this variety was documented by VarietyVista with a uniquely descriptive three-stage progression tracking secondary mintmark visibility. Die markers UVC-009 / DMR-002: Stage A EDS with a strong secondary mintmark, reverse EDS; Stage B MDS with a medium secondary mintmark, reverse MDS; Stage C LDS with a weak secondary mintmark, reverse LDS. This progressive weakening from strong to medium to weak documents how production wear gradually erodes the shallower remnant impression while leaving the deeper primary D intact. Struck in 95% copper and 5% tin-and-zinc at 3.11 grams and 19.05 mm, Brenner's design was in its tenth year. No directional displacement is specified.
