Description
1884-O VAM-20 Far Date, Doubled 1, High O Discovered by Oscar Simpson, March 1977. 20 III2 2 • C3m (Far Date, Doubled 1, High O) (181) Obverse III2 2 - Top of 1 doubled to left. Date set further right than normal. Reverse C3m - II O mint mark set high and upright. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: In late die state, the inside of Liberty's ear is doubled and the doubling on the 1 is indistinct. Other markers on both sides are present to confirm it is 1884-O VAM-20. 1884-O VAM-20 and 1884-O VAM-38 are the same die pair (VAM-38 has a more complete listing). The top of the Phrygian cap is doubled.
