1878-S VAM-17C Doubled D, Denticle Impressions Obverse Neck & Reverse Discovered in August of 2009 by Jason Henrichsen This coin is a Hit List 40, Super CD This is a Top 30 1878-S Die Variety. 17C III2 13 - B2d (Denticle Impressions Obverse Neck & Reverse) (184) Obverse II 13 - Later die state of VAM-17B with slightly polished die that has removed denticle impressions at date except for one at left side of lower loops on both 8's. Denticle impressions show at Liberty's neck edge. Reverse B2d - Die wear has weakened denticle impressions at UN & STAT but ones at OLL and below tail feathers still show. Middle denticle impressions die state.
