2024 Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-003

Description

Doubling shows to the southwest on Lincoln’s ear and slightly south on the Y in LIBERTY. Die Markers: Obverse: A vertical die gouge runs to the rim above the last T in TRUST. An area of die damage shows at the back of Lincoln’s upper nose. A series of die cracks and chips show on Lincoln’s eyebrow. Die gouges (dots) show in the field left of Lincoln’s lower ear. Reverse: Two vertical die gouges run to the rim above the O in OF. Two die chips and associated die cracks show on the upper left shield edge above PLU in PLURIBUS. A series of die gouges show inside the opening of the O in ONE. Submitted By: Steven J. Two light diagonal die scratches show to the right of the upper L in LIBERTY. A series of light parallel die scratches run through and below the UST in TRUST. Reverse: A large die chip shows on the upper left edge of the shield above P in PLURIBUS. A die crack shows below the opening on the lower portion of the O in ONE.
