Description
2022-P MA WDDR-004 is a doubled die reverse on the 2022-P Maya Angelou quarter (American Women series), cataloged by the Wexler team. Maya Angelou's earring shows the doubling on its right side. Both sides carry Wexler's master die doubling: WMDO-001 on the obverse and WMDR-001 on the reverse. Obverse markers: a chip in the lower inside corner of the date's first 2; a chip on the bridge of the nose; north-south cracks on the back of the mouth; and a gouge between WE and the rim. Reverse markers: east-west scratches right of the designer's initials ESD; between the bases of the T and A of STATES, a small gouge; many small gouges over the Q of QUARTER; a small gouge to the right of the U's top in QUARTER; and small gouges over the AR of DOLLAR. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
