2022 (P) Dr. Sally Ride Quarter - Variety WMDO-001

Description

2022-P SR WMDO-001 is a master die doubled obverse on the 2022-P Dr. Sally Ride quarter (American Women series), cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling runs north on the final T of TRUST and on the first 2 of the date, and slight doubling to the south shows inside the nostril. Because the doubling sits in the master die, Wexler says the markers on both sides vary from one affected working die to another. Tanner Scott submitted it. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler has confirmed WMDO-001 on 2022-P quarters honoring Angelou, Ride, Mankiller and Wong, and expects it, though without confirmation, on the Otero-Warren quarter. It reports that most Angelou and Ride quarters, possibly all of them, show this doubling, while it turns up less often on the Mankiller and Wong designs.
