Description

Bearing the Crossing the Delaware reverse design — a one-year issue distinct from the America the Beautiful series — the 2021 VDDR-003 Philadelphia quarter exhibits light spread to the north, producing an extra bottom edge of Washington's cuff as he stands in the boat crossing the icy Delaware River. The northward displacement shifts the secondary image upward, doubling the lower boundary of the sleeve detail on the central figure of General Washington. The VDDR designation reflects VarietyVista's hub-level classification. Die stage records show Early Die State (Stage A) for both reverse and obverse, Mid Die State (Stage B, unconfirmed), and Late Die State (Stage C, unconfirmed).
