2020 (P) Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-003

Description

2020-P VI WDDO-003 is a doubled die obverse on the 2020-P Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve quarter (U.S. Virgin Islands) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Moderate extra thickness appears on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, the hair details and the designer's initials, and the Y in LIBERTY shows notching on its upper left serif. Obverse markers: a thin NW/SE scratch right of the T in LIBERTY; a gouge over the F of OF; a small gouge at the rim over the UN of UNITED; and a small gouge over the I in IN. On the reverse, the leftmost leaves hold a small chip, the rightmost leaves show pre-die break depressions, and a gouge lies in the field under the A in BAY, toward its left side. Jeff Sharp submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
