2020 (P) Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-003

Description

2020-P VI WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse on the 2020-P Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve quarter (U.S. Virgin Islands) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Part of an extra root shows beside the knotted upper root, on its right. Wexler describes two stages of each die. Obverse Stage A has a weak die scratch running NW/SE through the B in LIBERTY. On Obverse Stage B that scratch may or may not still show, and a small gouge lies between the top of the D in GOD and the top of the W in WE. Reverse Stage A has a very small gouge beside the lowest of the right-hand leaves, on their right; on Reverse Stage B that gouge may or may not be present. Bill Wood submitted Stage A, with additional photos taken from a coin Eric Schmidt submitted. Christine Dudkowski submitted Stage B. VarietyVista lists the variety as VDDR-001.
