Description

2015-P DE WDDR-027 is a doubled die reverse on the 2015-P Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge quarter (Delaware) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Strong doubling shows under the right end of the upper strip of grass, in the gap separating the great egret from the great blue heron. Obverse Stage A has a gouge close to the rim over LIBERTY's L, a gouge left of the bottom of QUARTER's E, a gouge left of STATES' first T, and a small gouge on the knot of the queue. On Obverse Stage B, the gouge over the L and the one left of the E remain, and the other Stage A markers have worn away. Reverse Stage A has a field gouge over the heron's eye. Reverse Stage B keeps it and adds a die chip on the heron's beak. Kaden Turnbull submitted Stage A (with additional photos of a coin sent in by George W. Powell, Jr.), and George W. Powell, Jr. Stage B. CONECA lists it as 10-R-VIII.
