2015 (P) Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-005

Description

2015-P DE WDDR-005 is a doubled die reverse on the 2015-P Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge quarter (Delaware) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling takes the form of short extra grass blades at the center of the middle strip of grass, in the gap separating the great egret from the great blue heron. Obverse markers: a short vertical gouge over the IT of UNITED; die pitting left of the upper part of STATES' second T; and a small gouge between the upper parts of IN's I and N. On the reverse, a large die chip sits under the great blue heron's eye, and a NNW/SSE crack follows the rear of the great blue heron's head and its upper neck. Stephen Young submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
