Description

2015-P DE WDDR-022 is a doubled die reverse on the 2015-P Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge quarter (Delaware) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Strong doubling takes the form of extra grass blades over the right end of the upper strip of grass, in the gap separating the great egret from the great blue heron. Obverse Stage A has a thin crack running through the designer's initials JF and a small die chip on their J, a small gouge left of LIBERTY's Y, and a small gouge left of AMERICA's first A. Obverse Stage B is probably the same as Stage A. Reverse Stage A has, between the upper and lower grass strips at their left ends, a pair of small gouges in the space between the egret and the heron, and a gouge under the grass strip behind the heron. On Reverse Stage B the Stage A markers are probably still present, and a die chip lies under the great blue heron's eye. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted Stage A and Andrew Turnbull Stage B. CONECA lists it as 5-R-VIII.
