Description
Doubling shows as an extra blade of grass on the right side of the middle grass strip between the great egret and the great blue heron. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A die chip can be found to the left of the designer’s initials. Small die chip between the designer's initials. Obverse Stage B: Die chip between the initials greatly increased in size. Die crack extends E from the F in the designer's initials. Die gouge between the T and Y in LIBERTY. Stage B die gouge may or may not be present in earlier stages. Reverse Stage A: A die chip can be found below the great blue heron’s eye. Reverse Stage B: Small die chip on the top of the heron's head. Die gouge at the left end of the island in the background. Large but weak die gouge right of the heron. Stage B die gouges may or may not be present in earlier stages.
