2015 (P) Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-008

Description

2015-P DE WDDR-008 is a doubled die reverse on the 2015-P Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge quarter (Delaware) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling takes the form of extra grass blades over the left end of the middle strip of grass, in the gap separating the great egret from the great blue heron. On the obverse, a light crack crosses the bust's base, and a die chip lies over the F of the designer's initials JF. Reverse markers: a die chip sits under the great blue heron's eye; a NNW/SSE crack follows the rear of the great blue heron's head and its upper neck; a die chip on the feathers, well left of UNUM's first U; and a light crack running from that first U to the heron's lower feathers. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 8-R-VIII.
