Description
Very slight doubling shows inside the lower right opening in the handle of General Burgoyne’s sword.Die Markers: Obverse: Die crack across the base of the bust above the last R in QUARTER and the D in DOLLAR. Large die gouge at the inner right corner of the T in LIBERTY. Large die gouge at the rim above the T in UNITED. Two large die gouges at the rim above the D in UNITED. Die gouge below the D in UNITED. Die gouge left of the bottom of the E in STATES. Small area of die pitting inside the Q in QUARTER. Reverse: Die crack across the guard of the sword. Large die gouge in the field NW of the designer's initials BF. Large die gouge touches the left side of the U in SURRENDER. Two die gouges NW of the S in SURRENDER. Large die gouge above the R in BRITISH. Large die gouge above the right side of the handle of the sword.Submitted By: George W.
