Description
2015-P NY WDDR-017 is a doubled die reverse on the 2015-P Saratoga National Historical Park quarter (New York) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling sits within the lower right opening of the handle of General Burgoyne's sword. On the obverse, a gouge lies right of DOLLAR's last L and another between AMERICA's I and C. Reverse markers: a die dot to the left of the doubling; under General Gates's thumb, NW/SE scratches; a curved gouge touching the sword guard on its upper left inside; and a gouge right of General Burgoyne's pinky. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
