Description
Doubling shows inside the lower right opening in the handle of General Burgoyne’s sword. Die Markers: Obverse: Cluster of die gouges below the ear. Heavy NW/SE die flow lines left of IGWT. Reverse: Weak N/S die scratches below Burgoyne's wrist. Large die gouge inside the sword guard. Large die gouge above the frill of Burgoyne's sleeve. Two small die gouges below Gates's thumb. Small die gouge left of the doubling. Small die gouge inside the lower opening of the S in SURRENDER. Small die gouge between the S and U in SURRENDER.
