Description
2015-P NY WDDR-005 is a doubled die reverse on the 2015-P Saratoga National Historical Park quarter (New York) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling sits within the lower right opening of the handle of General Burgoyne's sword. The obverse is a late die state (LDS): a crack crosses the bust's base, with several die chips left of the designer's initials, and a gouge lies right of the top of STATES' S. On the reverse there is a die chip at the hilt's end and a gouge SW of the sword's quillon. Alfonso Lopez submitted the variety; the additional photos show a coin sent in by George W. Powell, Jr. Wexler lists no cross-references.
