2015 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-003

Part of the America the Beautiful quarter series, the 2015 WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse variety struck at the Philadelphia Mint on the Saratoga National Historical Park quarter honoring the site of a decisive Revolutionary War victory in New York. The ATB program, which ran from 2010 through 2021, featured five national parks or sites per year across all states and territories. Die hubbing misalignment during the die preparation process produced visible doubling on the reverse design elements of this Saratoga issue. The variety is cross-referenced as VarietyVista VDDR-003 and carries the Wexler designation 2015-P 25¢ NY WDDR-003. Saratoga National Historical Park commemorates the 1777 Battles of Saratoga, widely regarded as the turning point of the American Revolution, where the Continental Army's victory helped secure the French alliance.
