Description
2015-P NY WDDR-010 is a doubled die reverse on the 2015-P Saratoga National Historical Park quarter (New York) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling sits within the lower right opening of the handle of General Burgoyne's sword. Obverse Stage A has a small die chip just right of the designer's initial; there is also a chip on the bust's base, north of QUARTER's R; and a small gouge (dot) at the back of Washington's neck, level with the bottom of TRUST's T. Obverse Stage B is the same as Stage A. Reverse Stage A has a small gouge (dot) just left of the doubling, which remains on Reverse Stage B; Stage B adds a die chip between the sword guard and the ring finger. Michael Rusk submitted Stage A and George W. Powell, Jr. Stage B. Wexler lists no cross-references.
