Description
2015-P NY WDDR-007 is a doubled die reverse on the 2015-P Saratoga National Historical Park quarter (New York) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling sits within the lower right opening of the handle of General Burgoyne's sword. The obverse is a late die state (LDS), with a large gouge at the neck, right of LIBERTY's Y. Reverse markers: three large gouges over Burgoyne's wrist; a gouge beside the bottom of SURRENDER's S, on its left; and several gouges between SURRENDER's E and N. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler notes this is a replacement listing: the first WDDR-007 turned out to be machine doubling.
