2015 (P) Blue Ridge Parkway Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

2015-P NC WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 2015-P Blue Ridge Parkway quarter (North Carolina) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the underside of Washington's earlobe. Wexler describes two stages of each die. On Obverse Stage A, a thin scratch heads SW off the neck below the Y in LIBERTY, and there is a gouge to the right of the last L in DOLLAR. On Obverse Stage B those markers may or may not show, and a small die chip appears north of the D in DOLLAR, on the bust's base. Reverse Stage A has a small gouge above the leaf over the first U in UNUM; on Reverse Stage B that gouge may or may not be present. James Cassin submitted Stage A and Whaden Curtis submitted Stage B. Wexler lists no cross-references.
