Description

Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 2015-P 25¢ NC WDDO-001, this Blue Ridge Parkway ATB Quarter holds the lead DDO catalog position for the North Carolina design. Cross-referenced with 2015-P 25¢ NC WDDR-001, whose description notes doubling visible on the upper left side of the lower left flower petal of the top flower, indicating the reverse die paired with this DDO is itself a doubled die. The DDO/DDR combination on a single coin doubles the variety's significance for collectors pursuing both obverse and reverse hub doubling. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint in copper-nickel clad (8.33% nickel, 91.67% copper), weighing 5.67 grams with a 24.26 mm diameter. The ATB series featured 56 national park and monument reverse designs from 2010 through 2021.
