Produced at the Philadelphia Mint, the 2015 (P) Blue Ridge Parkway National Park Quarter is part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The U.S. Mint produced 325.6 million examples, making this ranked 12th of 15 mint variants by mintage, with 11% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse depicts a curved mountain road entering a tunnel with flowering dogwood trees. The Blue Ridge Parkway stretches 469 miles through Virginia and North Carolina, connecting Shenandoah and Great Smoky Mountains national parks.
