Description
2014P(IA)-25DEO-001T is a 2014 Philadelphia quarter obverse with trails coming off the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, pointing at 350°, just west of north. In the number, 2014P gives the year and mint, and (IA) is TrailDies' design tag, which the entry does not spell out; the 25-DEO-001T tail means quarter, obverse design extension, file 001, trails. The coin described is a middle die state, and TrailDies notes no markers for either side; the motto trails are the only guide. Michael Taylor found it. The common view is that a rotary buff used to polish the die drew these lines out; another view credits die movement against the hub.
