2013 (P) Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-004

Description

2013-P MD WDDR-004 is a doubled die reverse on the 2013-P Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine quarter (Maryland) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is spread to the east, on the lower right half of the upper firework burst's spray and inside that burst at its lower right. Also, two of the flag's lower stripes reach past its left edge. Obverse Stage A has three nearly horizontal scratches between the lower parts of UNITED's U and N. On Stage B those scratches have worn away, and there are gouges inside GOD's G, to the right of the bottom of that G, and in the lower opening of AMERICA's E. Wexler notes no significant markers on Reverse Stage A. Reverse Stage B has a gouge over the point where the roofs meet; a gouge touching the top of the left roof, right of the S-pointing firework spray; another over the left roof, left of that spray; and a gouge between the W-pointing spray in the lower burst. Bryant Allard submitted Stage A and George W. Powell, Jr. Stage B. CONECA lists it as 3-R-VIII.
