Description
2012P-5DER-006T is the reverse partner of the obverse trail die 2012P-5DEO-001T, so both sides of these coins carry trails. On this side the lines leave the word CENT and point to 150°, south-southeast. Its number: 2012 Philadelphia, a five-cent denomination (5), reverse design extension (DER), file 006, trails (T). TrailDies records the same late-die-state markers for the pair: a small break on top of the S in TRUST and a gouge above the E of UNITED. Tanaka (Mikee) Davis found the dies. Most researchers see rotary polishing of the die as the source of trails, while a minority look to the die moving against the hub.
