2012 (P) Jefferson Nickel - P-5DER-004T Trail Die Reverse

Description

On 2012P-5DER-004T the trails come from STATES, from FIVE and CENTS, and from the NTI of MONTICELLO, so they are spread over lettering both above and below the building, and they point to 160°, south-southeast, toward the lower right. TrailDies' number reads 2012P (date and mint), 5 (nickel), DER (reverse design extension), 004 (file), T (trails). On the middle-die-state example, the obverse shows nothing of note, while the reverse has a small gouge just below the first A of AMERICA. Tanaka (Mikee) Davis found the die. The die was most likely marked by polishing with a rotary tool, although some writers credit the die moving against the hub.
