2011 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-007

Description

2011 WDDO-007 is a doubled die obverse on the 2011 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBERTY, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date all show very strong extra thickness, and the ERTY of LIBERTY is notched at the bottom left. Obverse markers: a crack running SSW to NNE through the hair left of the upper ear; a crack in the hair on top of the head that runs south to north, bends NW, then bends north again; a pre-die crack depression through the eyebrow; and a crack going NNW into the forehead, starting at the eyebrow's front. Reverse markers: cracks along the top of the shield on both the left and right sides, and chips on the E of ONE (at its bottom and at its center) and at the center of CENT's E. Sean Williams submitted the variety. Crawford lists it as CDDO-010, its Coppercoins number is 2011P-1DO-008, and CONECA lists it as 3-O-VI. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
