Description

Cross-referenced across four catalogs — Crawford CDDO-010, Coppercoins 2011P-1DO-008, CONECA 3-O-VI, and Wexler Variety ID 2011 1-cent WDDO-007 — this 2011 Philadelphia Lincoln Shield Cent delivers very strong extra thickness on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date, affecting all major obverse legend elements simultaneously. Notches appear on the bottom left of E, R, T, and Y in LIBERTY, creating a serrated stepped effect where primary and secondary hub impressions overlap with slight offset. A pre-die crack depression runs through the eyebrow — a linear weakening in the die steel not yet fully separated into an open crack, appearing as a shallow groove on struck coins. The CONECA 3-O-VI classification indicates Class VI spread toward center ranked third strongest for the date. The breadth of doubling across motto, date, and LIBERTY means hub displacement affected virtually the entire obverse field, providing multiple attribution zones. The four-way cross-referencing ensures recognition by all major grading services, and the strong notching on ERTY provides an accessible field diagnostic visible under moderate magnification. A die crack in the hair at the top of the head runs from south to north, curves to the NW, and then curves to the north again. Die chips can be found on the bottom of the E in ONE, the center of the E in ONE, and the center of the E in CENT.
