2010 (P) Roosevelt Dime - P-10DEO-002T Trail Die Obverse

Description

2010P-10DEO-002T is a 2010 Philadelphia Roosevelt dime obverse with its trails on the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. They run at 330°, north-northwest, up and slightly left. The code spells out 2010 and P, then 10 for a dime; DEO places the extension on the obverse, 002 is the file, and T signals trails. Jean Lee located the die. TrailDies' stage B example has an unmarked obverse, but its reverse carries a scratch that runs down from the last U of PLURIBUS to the M of DIME, which helps confirm a match. A rotary polishing tool working the die face is the usual suspect for trails; others suggest the die moved against the hub.

Die Markers

• Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – none noted
• Reverse is MDS – a die scratch is seen from the last U in PLURBUS down to the M in DIME.
