2010 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DER-013T Trail Die Reverse

Description

Trails come from EPU on the shield of 2010P-1DER-013T and point due north, 000°, straight toward the top of the coin; the entry's text writes the same bearing as 360 degrees. TrailDies' number joins 2010P for the year and Philadelphia mint, denomination 1, DER for a reverse design extension, file 013 and T for trails. On the middle-die-state coin the obverse has heavy crisscross scratches through LIBERTY that can look like trails; on the reverse a crack crosses the edge of the shield above PLUR. Ryan Magers found it. Trails are usually attributed to rotary polishing of the die, though some see die movement against the hub as the cause.
