2010 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DER-008T Trail Die Reverse

Description

On 2010P-1DER-008T, trails come from the bottoms of NIT in UNITED and point at 030°, north-northeast, a third of the way round from north toward east. In TrailDies' scheme this is a 2010 Philadelphia cent (2010P, 1), reverse design extension (DER), file 008, trails (T). No obverse markers are given for the middle-die-state coin. On the reverse, a small chip sits in the shield's rim above the last U of PLURIBUS, and there is die damage inside the O of ONE. Albert Neils found it. Polishing of the die with a rotary tool is the usual explanation for trails, while some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
