2010 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DER-004T Trail Die Reverse

Description

Trails cover much of the reverse of 2010P-1DER-004T: RICA in AMERICA; the lower left corners of N and E in ONE and of N and T in CENT; the two pairs of designer initials; the shield's bottom points; and EPU. All of them run at 190°, slightly west of straight down. TrailDies' code gives 2010 and P, then 1, the cent, then DER for the reverse, file 004 and T. At the early middle stage no markers are listed; at the late middle stage a crack runs from Lincoln's ear into the field under WE's W, and a small dot sits between the T and A of STATES. Louis Schaeffer found it. Trails are usually explained by polishing of the die with a rotary buff, and by some through the die moving against the hub.
