2010 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DER-002T Trail Die Reverse

Description

Light trails leave the tops of the EPU letters on 2010P-1DER-002T, and lines running the same way sit on the bottoms of UNI in UNITED. TrailDies' description gives the offset as 030° (north-northeast, toward the upper right), though the heading above it reads 020°. Taken piece by piece, the number gives 2010 with P, the cent (1), the reverse design-extension tag (DER), file 002 and the trail suffix (T). Neither side of the early-die-state coin has listed markers. Jimmy Ehrhart found it. Trails are usually put down to polishing of the die with a rotary buff, though some prefer the explanation of die movement against the hub.
