2010 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DEO-007T Trail Die Obverse

Description

TrailDies calls 2010P-1DEO-007T a minimal trail die: just two trail lines, both from the E of WE, offset at 150°, south-southeast, down and to the right. The number decodes as 2010P for the year and Philadelphia mint, 1 for one cent, DEO (obverse design extension), file 007, and T. No die markers are listed for either side of the middle-die-state coin, so those two lines are the whole identification. Albert Neils found it. Trails are usually explained as the result of polishing the die with a rotary buff; some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
