2010 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DEO-005T Trail Die Obverse

Description

Light trails leave the L, B and E of LIBERTY on 2010P-1DEO-005T and point at 350°, slightly west of north, up toward the rim. The parts of the number: 2010, P for Philadelphia, 1 for the cent, DEO for obverse design extension, 005 for the file, T for trails. TrailDies describes a late-die-state coin, with a large crack in Lincoln's head and, on the reverse, cracks from the left and middle points along the top of the shield. Jean Lee found it. Polishing of the die with a rotary buff is the usual attribution for trails, though some favour the die moving against the hub.
