2010 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DEO-002T Trail Die Obverse

Description

Trails drop from the bottoms of the date digits on 2010P-1DEO-002T at 210°, south-southwest, down and to the left. The number splits into the year and Philadelphia mint (2010P), the denomination 1 for a cent, DEO for the obverse, file 002 and T for trails. TrailDies lists no obverse markers on its middle-die-state coin; on the reverse one crack leaves the top of the shield and another the upper right of the scroll across it. Jean Lee found the die. Trails are usually linked to polishing the die with a rotary buff; some link them instead to the die moving against the hub.

• Reverse is MDS – a die crack is seen from the top of the shield. Another die crack is seen from the right top of the scroll.
